Hey Guys! I know it's been ages since posting here, so it's time for a little update. I've done a bunch of shows while I was gone (3 to be exact!) but Runway 4.0 was by far my favorite. I featured my senior collection which was a huge part of this semester. I put all my time and money into this little baby so let's have the pictures do the talking.

Friday Funday

My day started off with coffee & knitting. Really wonderful and relaxing. Then I proceeded to sew a bit and dance around to remixes.

Good morning world :)
At my sister's apartment. This is sitting on top of her window, so cute. I hopped on over there to go pick her up and go to estate sales. Ended up waiting a bit but took this cute photo!
The first estate sale we went to was this adorable brick mansion. Gorgeous wallpaper & floor in the main room, I had to take a photo. They had a lot of really interesting things. I bought a sweet vintage leather satchel purse for $5, some vintage gift tags $2, and this adorable record for $1 that I'm going to frame at some point.
Pardon my thumb in the side of the photo. I'm in love with the record cover. It's from 1925 so it has that old illustration feel that I adore.

I wanted this chair so bad. I couldn't justify $95 for the darling though. Being a poor college student sucks sometimes.I just loved the way this suitcase looked. Especially since they left their tags on it too. There were a ton of suitcases like this will the tags on them still. Really interesting. These people must have traveled a lot.Took one last picture before leaving the estate sale. Really loved the house, really interesting stuff they had!This is from the 2nd estate sale. It was an antique shop, Asset's Antiques on Elmwood ave. Really wonderful stuff, SO pricey though. I ended up getting to large pieces of black lace, really intricate detail, gorgeous, cannot wait to turn it into something! These vintage Kewpie dolls weren't in the greatest condition but they were selling for over $100. Wowzah.
Ended my day at Border's with Al. Drinking coffee (again!) and reading magazines (view Elle UK above, Alexa Chung <3). I was really shocked to find out that the Border's that I went to does not have a fashion book section. I mean. Really. I searched the entire store, I was quite surprised to find nothing. Sad sad world.

Goodbye Martin & Osa

So I just found out Martin & Osa is closing. Bummer! So everything on the site is 50% off, wow. And of course, since I just got paid.... I bought this adorable cardigan. Me and my cardis.... sigh. I need a new one, the one I'm wearing right now has a hole in the shoulder for goodness sakes! I'm sure this is a good replacement, super adorable, wicked cheap, and good for every season. Take up the opportunity now to get a new wardrobe super cheap!

The big move is in 3 days! Al and I are so excited, we just can't wait to move in and make this apartment our own. So, here's some more house & room inspiration.I love the organized clutter, I need to work on that.

Gorgeous room, I love the giant mirror, I am going to get a big mirror for our apartment to make it look bigger. It really gives that illusion of more space.

Our kitchen is quite petite like this, I really like the flowers on top of the stove, such a lovely idea.

Lovely storage of dishes and mugs... I'm thinking about getting a nice hutch from Amvet's and sprucing it up. I also love the small dining table, we need a tiny one for our apartment and that size is perfect.

Am in love with the color scheme, yum. This is from Design*Sponge too and they have a DIY for the pillow shams, sweet!

You know how I was talking about a hutch above? Okay well this is what I want to do. I'm going to search Amvet's for a sweet one like this and put wallpaper in it, yay!

I've always wanted a spiral staircase.. this is just a lovely picture, I don't even have two floors in my new apartment haha!

Today was my day off, no work, no class, just pure relaxation. I have been packing all of my stuff up for the big move Wednesday! So excited! It's nice to pack everything up because at the same time I am organizing, it's quite nice really. I've been watching the Harry Potter marathon while packing, really wonderful I might add. And of course, neglecting all of the homework I have to do, ugh. Oh and eating strawberries.

oh hai thur.

The etsy shop is on vaca mode. All the items are on their way to Splash Panic! Hoorah! Super excited to move out all my stock, and start sewing/creating on all the new stuff I have in the works. Hint one: my hands are covered in paint from one of the products... hehe!

I'm off of work for a week, don't really know or care why, so I can get everything done, yes!!! Also, have to pack all my stuff up. I have so much, whenever I pack I realize.... I just own so many things and cannot get rid of any of it!

I have had this terrible craving for shopping, I just want and need to shop. Being poor blows! Oh and now that I'm being so ADD with this post I might as well throw in I'm thinking of opening an e-commerce shop.... and it's going to be all sorts of indie artists and yum yum fun! I have decided it will be like owning my own brick and morter.... only online. However I will set up fun shop days in my house.... Al is going to love this hahah. I really want to sell my goods, vintage finds, and other artists! I'm thinking this is a grand idea, now I just need a stellar name. Oh.. stellar.... hmm...

Terrarium Making

Al is off getting me a redbull, I'm quite tired from my busy busy day. I made this fantastic terrarium with african violets and plastic mushrooms. They are so easy to make it is crazy, also very inexpensive for the materials. I'm going to have to find some more awesome plants & jars and make more terrariums! Please pardon the iPhone photo with too much contrast, I will take better photos later :)

Today is the first day of summer, get on your sunnies and flip flops. I did a little thrifting this morning, I found a great apothecary jar, fairly small but great condition. As well as a brown satchel bag, my new purse! All for the price of $4.34. I am going to go thrifting again this afternoon with Karrina, hopefully we find some goodies. It's gorgeous out so I should really be like... outside doing stuff. Too bad I am at school, waiting for my next class, dreaming of a lazy river. Damn. Well, everyone enjoy this gorgeous day, play some frisbee, jump in a pool, lay out in the sun.

New Apartment!

I'm so excited to move into the new place Al and I just got. We are moving in July 14th so we still have a little over a month but I am brainstorming some designs. I really want to make our place a real home, and I'm thrilled to have my own craft room! Here are some inspiring photos that I may steal some ideas from!

I don't want to paint the walls, so I'm going to go with the white walls and then pops of color (top picture, the pop of the espresso machine is fantastic). I have to paint our end tables but not sure what color to do that in... they are so blah though! Whatever, 10 for 2 ikea tables on craigslist, can't go wrong. I also have chalkboard paint, so I want to find something to paint that with... maybe a piece of wood, then put a frame from amvet's around it. Something like that would rock. Time to go browse Lowe's for a couple hours... oh dear :)

I have so many things to do, I don't even know where to begin. School is crazy, summer classes aren't so bad, it's just a lot of work so far! Hopefully it will get better... haha we'll see. I have to do some major sewing, that is top priority. When I get home from school I need to force myself to sit at the sewing machine instead of infront of the tv. Wish me luck ;)

New bags!

Wow. Is it not gorgeous outside or what? I know I should be outside taking a jog around the block but really, sitting at my computer is much more enticing. And watching Gossip Girls really hits the spot. I've gotten a lot of sewing done lately and have a bunch of new stock to bring to Splash Panic as well as put in my etsy shop.
My next feature is going to be Sailor & Nautical themed, so if you have any suggestions or items throw them my way! I'm rounding up a whole bunch but I like what you guys have to say too.

I am a very lucky girl. I just got a job at Banana Republic working on the floor design, I am ecstatic! So, since I will be working there I think I should start by owning some really great items. These are all the things I want from their current collection. First off, I need that dress and the ring. Then everything else will follow!
I can't wait to start working there, I have no problem with folding clothing or making the place look great, that is my kind of job.

I just visited The Clothing Show in Toronto on Friday. It was wonderful! Really amazing gals, I'll be putting together a collage of all those artists soon. These are some fine people from Etsy again, I'm always looking for inspiration and I've found some really wonderful artists. Love Love Love! Wish I had some money.

This is just one of the many collages from my book. Once I complete them I'll be uploading them here, most have themes, this one is a dazed and confused dreamy summer theme. I love cutting out inspirational pictures and plopping them all together to become something totally different. This is really where all my magazines and catalogs end up. And it's great for inspiration, when I'm un-inspired I just look in my book and I will immediately find something to be inspired by.
